This glamping site is designed to take advantage of the stunning views in all directions. Sleeping 2/4.
A restored shepherd’s hut which was regularly used during the 1920’s and 30’s at lambing time on the Sussex Down’s and as the shepherds base when showing prize winning South Down sheep at shows and fairs around the south of England has been fitted out as a cosy bedroom for two people - in bunk beds.
The living space complements the shepherd’s hut and comes in the form of a Sawpit Wagon, which has been sympathetically fitted out to give a double bed, comfortable seating and dining area alongside the kitchen, together with the elevated platform that allows you to enjoy uninterrupted views over the adjoining farm and woodland countryside. The site faces East/West giving you both the summer sun rise and sun sets.
Facilities include compost loo, hot water from wood fired water heater, and camp fire with barbeque over. Wooden picnic table and seating.
15% Discount for 2 or more continuous mini breaks.
*Mini break is either: Three nights Friday, Saturday & Sunday or Four nights mid week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights.

We had a fantastic time in spite of the rain! A little bit of paradise to get away from it all. Well equipped, comfortable, loved the outdoor shower and having camp fires. Nobody near us - idyllic.

We had a great time at Sawpit Wagon Camp. It is wonderfully peaceful and feels remote, yet a welcome part of the Stock Gaylard Estate, who are very friendly.

Fabulous little place and a real gem. We had a wonderful weekend away from it all at Sawpit Wagon Camp. The accommodation is super comfortable - the bed was the comfiest I had ever slept in! The wagon is really well equipped - much more than I had expected and we all loved the outdoor shower and having a campfire / BBQ every evening. The children loved the freedom and would take the dog out for short walks by themselves which they could never do at home (they are 9 and 7). The hosts were brilliant and were on hand to help if needed but also left us to it once we were settled. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who likes being outdoors but also likes a comfy bed and a hot shower. But don't expect to be able to charge any devices as it is an electricity free zone. Utter bliss!

A lovely relaxing break that made us feel as though we had been away for days instead of just 2 nights. Andy and Josie were so welcoming and friendly, Andy took time to engage with the children as well as showing us the essentials of Sawpit Wagon Camp - the compost loo was a hit! The location of Sawpit and Andy's reassurance that this was our break to relax and enjoy ensured we all laughed, screeched, ran around and played pranks on each other - it sounds awful but I can't remember the last time all four of us were so in tune and focused on one another - that was the beauty of the Sawpit Wagon Camp; oh and the chocolate cake was divine!! Very sad to pack up and leave yesterday - the adults wanted an efficient and brief goodbye, the children wanted to linger and to drink it in a bit more.

A little piece of paradise. Very tastefully done - everything has been thought of - yet it has been kept simple. Mod cons of hot water and fridge were great. Beautiful setting and lots to do if you want to. Hosts were lovely. Highly recommend.
