Glamping Bus, Horsebox, Bunkhouse & BELL TENT!
Parsons – Stay Somewhere Truly Extraordinary at Stock Gaylard, Glamping Dorset
Sleeps 12 across a bus, bunk house and bell tent
Once a coastal tourist bus roaming the Isle of Wight and Norfolk, our lovingly restored Glamping Bus has now found its perfect home on our Dorset Estate. Today, it offers a wonderfully nostalgic yet comfortably modern escape—ideal for families, groups, or anyone searching for a unique glamping experience in Dorset. A real hit with children.
Step inside and you’ll find the lower deck transformed into a cosy sleeping area with four comfortable single beds, designed to help you unwind after days spent exploring the estate. Climb to the upper deck and discover an inviting covered seating space and fully equipped kitchen. It’s the perfect spot to cook, relax, and enjoy the fresh countryside air, whatever the weather.
One of the highlights of Parsons Camp is the open-top rear deck. Sit around the handcrafted oak table with a morning coffee or a slow lunch and soak up panoramic views stretching across the beautiful Dorset landscape. It’s glamping with a sense of wonder—simple pleasures elevated by unforgettable surroundings.
The bus is fully equipped with mains water, hot running water at the kitchen sink, a gas cooker and a fridge together with a separate fridge freezer, giving you the comforts of home while keeping you close to nature. Whether you’re stargazing, sharing stories, or simply taking in the quiet, this one-of-a-kind retreat promises a peaceful and memorable glamping holiday in the heart of Dorset.
Alongside the Bus, Parsons Camp also offers our charming Bunkhouse and spacious Bell Tent, making this one of Dorset’s most inviting glamping sites for families, groups, and special gatherings.
The Bunkhouse features a cosy double bed with two single bunks above—a brilliant setup for parents with younger children or close-knit friends. Just a few steps away, the Bell Tent sleeps four more guests in one double and two single beds. Together, the Glamping Bus, Bunkhouse, and Bell Tent provide accommodation for up to twelve people, creating the perfect base for group adventures, multi-family breaks, retreats, and unforgettable hen parties in the Dorset countryside.
Outside, a small garden pergola offers a lovely sheltered spot to gather for meals, drinks, or late-night card games under soft lantern light. It’s a simple delight that often becomes the heart of the stay.
Unique Facilities with Rustic Luxury
A converted towed horsebox houses a gas-heated shower, along with a basin. It also features a rustic bathtub heated by a unique wood-fired boiler designed here on the estate. Light the fire beneath the tank, wait as the warmth builds, and then slip into a steaming bath surrounded by the quiet of nature. It’s a magical experience you won’t find anywhere else.
Nearby, you’ll find a second gas shower and a raised compost toilet complete with its own sink. The entire site benefits from mains water, allowing you to enjoy natural living with home comforts at hand.
Parsons Camp is wonderfully child friendly, offering wide open spaces and natural play opportunities. We also welcome up to two well-behaved dogs—we simply ask that they don’t enter the sleeping areas. With its mix of fun accommodation and peaceful woodland surroundings, our site is also a popular choice for hen parties seeking a relaxed and memorable glamping experience in Dorset.
Getting Here & Local Essentials
Travelling to Stock Gaylard is easy. Sherborne Station offers excellent rail links, and from there the estate is just a 10-minute taxi ride—with a taxi office conveniently located at the station.
For groceries, we recommend Dike & Son, a beloved family-run supermarket in nearby Stalbridge. They offer everything from fresh local produce to all your everyday essentials, and they provide a delivery service timed for your arrival, making your stay even more effortless.
Additional to the Bus we also have the Bunkhouse and Bell Tent.
The Bunkhouse contains one double bed and two single bunks above. With the additional four bed bell tent (with one double and two singles) this gives the site a total bed capacity for twelve people. There is also a small pergola in the garden that makes a great place to everyone to eat or play cards.
There is a towed horsebox that contains a gas heated shower with a table and basin. As the pictures show, there is also a bath in the horsebox, the hot water of which is provided by our own design of a wood fired boiler. Light the fire underneath and then after a while turn on the hot tap! Near the horsebox is a second gas shower and a raised compost toilet with its own sink. The whole site is plumbed with mains water.
The site is child friendly and we welcome up to two dogs on this site (we do ask that dogs do not go in the sleeping areas). Hen parties are also welcome at Parson’s Bus Site.
