Withybed Yurts
Our Withybed Yurts are near the Deer Park and face west, so expect to see some gorgeous sunsets. Our yurts are near the field edges, and you’ll often see Roe Deer out grazing and hear (or even see) Tawny and Barn Owls at night.
These yurts come with a double bed, two single beds, and a pull-out futon. There’s another yurt with single futons and a large safari tent with a living area, seating, tables, and a dresser.
Brickles Yurts
Our Brickles Yurts are located on the edge of the 60-acre Brickles Wood and face southeast, offering breathtaking views of Blackmore Vale. A gorgeous mixed wood punctuates this site with hazel coppice, stands of pine and beech, and mature oaks. While here, you’ll be treated to an array of wild visitors, including foxes and owls.
Parsons Camp
Parsons Camp is located near Parsons Copse and Brickles Wood. Enjoy stunning views of the Dorset countryside and marvel at our rather unique camping feature – a converted double-decker bus which sleeps up to four people. There’s also a bunkhouse which also sleeps four, and a shepherd’s hut, which sleeps up to two people.
Sawpit Wagon
Our sawpit wagon is a wonderful option for couples enjoying a romantic retreat, but we can also accommodate children sleeping outside in separate tents. The wagon sleeps two with a double bed, comfortable seating, and a dining area alongside the kitchen. There’s also a west-facing elevated platform outside – inviting on a warm summer evening.
Siesta Chalet
The Siesta Chalet sits at the top of a chalet park overlooking the Jurassic Coast. The other chalets are owned, but this chalet is available for hire all year long. It’s the perfect alternative for anyone who wants to get away but desires something other than glamping.
The Gardens
The gardens sit beyond the main house and comprise an expanse of gravel leading onto a small lawn with a central path that provides access to the Deer Park. There’s a church to the south, and the garden comprises a series of lawns with box hedging, mature trees, and herbaceous borders.
The Estate
Our Dorset estate is home to Stock Gaylard House, a small Grade II listed building believed to have been built around 1714. Tours are available of the house throughout the year. The estate spans 1800 acres and includes a deer park and heavily forested areas left completely untouched.
The Blackmore Vale
The Blackmore Vale is believed to derive its name either from the dark aspect of its woods and its moisture and Moorish situation or from the nature of its soil, which is deep, strong, and consisting of black clay. The Vale forms part of an old English forest that once covered much of North Dorset.
